Orlando Valkyries Swept by Omaha Supernovas in Playoff Push

The Orlando Valkyries lost 3-0 against the Omaha Supernovas on Thursday night in Addition Financial Arena. Orlando suffered its fifth sweep in six losses and are the most swept team in MLV history.

“I’m just disappointed in how we showed up to compete tonight, especially after what I thought was a pretty good week of practice,” Orlando Valkyries coach Amy Pauly said. “I thought our defensive energy, when we were out in San Diego, was really good, and so I kind of thought that we would rebound from that loss a little bit better. But obviously, bottom line, in looking at the box too, like we just didn’t show up. We didn’t want it.”

Valkyries outside hitter Hannah Maddux led the match with 13 kills, while three Supernovas (Brooke Nuneviller, Sarah Parsons and Merritt Beason) ended with nine. Rookie signee Zoe Weatherington was the only other Valkyrie with five or more kills, ending with the second most kills in her Orlando career…
