Polk County Dirt Bike Meetup Ends In Jail: Kissimmee Man Arrested After 2 Marketplace Heists

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Kissimmee man is behind bars after a Polk County Facebook Marketplace meetup ended in a stolen dirt bike, ultimately linking him to a similar unsolved heist from last year.

The investigation began on June 4, 2026, when a Davenport resident arranged to meet a potential buyer to sell his $7,000 dirt bike. The meeting was coordinated through Facebook Marketplace. When the suspect arrived, he asked to take the vehicle for a test drive, rode away, and never returned.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives quickly identified 23-year-old Manuel Orlando Gonzalez, Jr. as a potential suspect. Gonzalez had a prior history, having been arrested for stealing a dirt bike in Haines City in 2023.
