The attack unfolded without warning or any exchange of words, leaving investigators searching for a motive in what appears to be a random assault. Authorities have charged a 27-year-old man in connection with the shooting.
The Attack Unfolds
The incident took place in the 1000 block of Egan Drive. The woman was following her usual path through the area when she noticed an unfamiliar man walking toward her. She turned to move away, yet the man continued closing the distance and fired three shots into her back.
She later told officers she did not recognize the shooter and could not explain why she had been targeted. Paramedics transported her to a hospital for treatment after the shooting. No statements from either the victim or the suspect were reported before the gunfire erupted.
