Town hall held to discuss Wedgefield’s private water system

WEDGEFIELD, Fla. — Some east Orange County families met Wednesday with officials to discuss repairs to a water and wastewater plant that provides service to Wedgefield.

County leaders say the plant, that is owned by Pluris Holdings, LLC, needs almost $60 million in infrastructure repairs soon, but many residents say they want Pluris gone, citing water quality and already high water bills.

Niki Conti says Pluris has increased her family’s water bill at least six times over the last nine years. Conti says they pay $150 per month now, and $400 if they water their lawn two days a week. She also does not trust the water coming out of their tap…
