APOPKA, Fla. — Apopka Mayor Nick Nesta outlined a proposed city government reorganization during a town hall Monday night, saying the new structure is intended to better support residents and address the needs of the growing city.
“Projects are not getting finished because we don’t have the staff in place in the ownership and the accountability to get there,” Nesta said. “That’s why this organizational structure is so important. It’s not just boxes on a screen. It’s really people in places that ensure that accountability is happening.”
The proposed changes come as Apopka City Hall is already seeing leadership changes. City commissioners learned Friday that Interim City Administrator Radley Williams and Finance Director Blanche Sherman had been “separated from employment,” effective Oct. 1.
