Orlando Police Chief Holding Community Meetings in City Districts

The Orlando Police Chief is holding community meetings in all city districts, providing local updates on crime and public safety. Orlando Police Chief Eric Smith scheduled third-quarter Chief’s Community Meetings in October. OPD said this is where residents can connect with the police officers who serve your community, learn about crime trends in your neighborhood, and ask questions about the issues that matter most to you.

Police Chief Smith started last night in Orlando’s District 4. Chief Smith and members of the OPD team met with District 4 residents to share the latest crime stats, discuss public safety and answer questions. In District 4: Shootings are down 42%, from 12 in 2025 to 7 in 2026; Burglaries are down 38%; There have been 12 homicides in 2026, with a 92% clearance rate; Officers have conducted 5,183 traffic stops and issued 1,792 citations in 2026; Officers have made 1,504 contacts with individuals experiencing homelessness. Citywide, officers have made 42,124 contacts.
