It’s always nice to have access to a high-end restaurant where you can go for very special occasions. There are times when you want to get dressed up and eat excellent food to celebrate life’s accomplishments.

And Florida has plenty of restaurants that fit this bill. Examples are Tampa’s Bern’s Steakhouse and Victoria and Albert’s in Orlando.

Unfortunately, Florida has lost one of its fine dining establishments that was a great place for special occasions. The owner has teased a new tenant that will “make sense.”

About Slate: This restaurant featured modern American cuisine cooked using a wood-fired copper oven in an open kitchen. The menu featured items like wood-fired pizzas, seafood, artisanal pasta, steaks, and fresh salads.

The interior of the restaurant was lovely and unique, with high ceilings, an open concept, and a huge fireplace.

Chef Kevan Ho has spoken about creating food that engages all of the senses. He told Immers 3d Magazine:

“I strive so that my dishes come out and impact all your senses. That you can taste them with your eyes and nose, as well as your mouth, and delight your ears at the same time. That’s the experience I’m talking about!”
