Walt Disney World is celebrating the arrival of a critically endangered cotton-top tamarin triplets.
Born recently at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, animal care experts said these tiny monkeys are currently undergoing crucial bonding moments with their parents and siblings.
A unique aspect of their upbringing is the equal involvement of both mom and dad in caring for the young tamarins. This shared responsibility includes carrying the infants on their backs, a practice that continues until approximately 14 weeks of age.
Found in the tropical forests of Colombia, cotton-top tamarins are some of the smallest primates in the world.
Experts say they’re easily some of the most recognizable monkeys due to their long white hairs that extend from their forehead to their shoulders. Today, there are fewer than 7,500 remaining in the wild.

Wednesday’s announcement follows the birth of two cotton-top tamarin monkeys at the park back in June, underscoring Disney’s ongoing dedication to the conservation and well-being of endangered species.
