In a significant legal development, U.S. Attorney Roger B. Handberg announced a superseding indictment against two Orlando residents, Abduvosit Razikov, a 44-year-old U.S. citizen, and Dilrabo Obidova, a 35-year-old Uzbek national, for their involvement in a long-standing immigration and passport fraud conspiracy. Spanning over 16 years, the charges against Razikov and Obidova include making false statements to federal agencies, illegally obtaining immigration benefits, and falsifying U.S. passport applications.
The intricate scheme orchestrated by Razikov and Obidova is detailed in the indictment. Razikov, originally hailing from Uzbekistan, is accused of obtaining U.S. citizenship through a fraudulent marriage. Concurrently, Razikov and Obidova are alleged to have conspired to secure U.S. immigration benefits for Obidova through another sham marriage to a different U.S. citizen. Despite being secretly married to each other, they went to great lengths to conceal their relationship from immigration authorities, including falsifying their children’s birth certificates.
