Certain cars are so iconic and have such a rich history that they become highly collectible. Such is the case with America’s sports car, the Chevrolet Corvette. The “dream car” concept debuted in 1953, and over the next 70 years the platform continued to evolve and set the bar for sports cars both on and off the track. The 2024 Mecum auction in Kissimmee, Florida, featured over 4,000 cars for sale and more than 500 Corvettes were in that lot. In fact, we would say there were more Corvettes available for purchase at the auction than any other nameplate.
