Somebody put my Tampa Bay in my Lake County!
As someone who’s grown up in the Tampa Bay area for just about a half-century, I was amped to see a little bit of the area’s signature beachy dining style spice up the shores of Lake Minneola in Clermont — a place like Salt Shack’s version 2.0, Salt Shack on the Lake, which opened its doors Monday to community fanfare.
The Tampa-based restaurant opened its first location in 2019. Since then, the Salt Shack has enchanted Bay area diners with its award-winning “rustic-refined” cuisine. Tampa Magazine readers voted it as the Best Beach/Waterfront Restaurant in Tampa Bay — an award chosen from 88,914 votes.
While it might seem odd to have a place with salt in the name on a freshwater lake, the spot fits in just right, according to a slew of enthusiastic Clermont locals on social media.

Salt Shack on the Lake offers a contemporary mix of fusion and Cajun-inspired bites, and its Tiki torches and beach chairs on a sandy beach make you forget for a moment that you’re not on a landlocked body of water.
