According to the weekly law enforcement report for January 26 through February 1, 2024, from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), two subjects, including a convicted felon, were arrested after attempting to flee on a stolen motorcycle in Orange County.
The release states that Officer Specialist Hallsten was conducting a resource inspection on two subjects who were seen fishing along a creek. The subjects then attempted to flee on a motorcycle and tamper with evidence by throwing a concealed firearm into the creek.
Upon the subjects’ arrest, it was discovered that one of the two was a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and a stolen motorcycle, was driving on a suspended license, and had no motorcycle endorsement. The felon was also found to have methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a stolen credit card with over $8,000 in fraudulent charges in their possession.
The other subject was also in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, in addition to some fentanyl.
