In Orlando, Florida, a significant courtroom decision has resonated across the community. Antione Oshea Ladson, a 29-year-old local, faced the music when U.S. District Judge Carlos E. Mendoza handed down a sentence of 10 years and 6 months in federal prison. This ruling came after Ladson’s guilty plea on July 11, 2023, for engaging in drug trafficking and unlawfully possessing firearms and ammunition as someone with a history of felony convictions.
Ladson’s legal troubles began to unravel dramatically on August 27, 2022, after a seemingly ordinary day took a dark turn. Checking into a hotel in Orlando, Ladson found himself in a heated exchange in an outdoor breezeway with another man. The situation escalated quickly, resulting in Ladson firing a shot from his modified pistol, hitting the man in the neck. It’s nothing short of miraculous that the victim survived, especially considering the military-grade ammunition used in the attack.
