By all accounts, the Amato family was like any other family. They had their normal ups and downs until January 24, 2019, when the bad turned ugly.
In a heinous act, the family of five in Orlando, Florida, was instantly reduced to a family of two.
Parents Chad and Margaret Amato raised their three sons in central Florida and two of the adult boys, Cody and Grant, still lived with them in the family home. Grant, born on May 20, 1989, was a good student and the boys participated on the wrestling team in school.
Grant graduated from Timber Creek High School in Orlando and they attended the University of Central Florida (UCF) to study nursing together.
The brothers decided to become nurse anesthetists. Cody graduated but Grant failed and dropped out. Grant was able to find work as a nurse at AdventHealth Orlando. The brothers began to drift apart.
While Grant worked at AdventHealth he was arrested on suspicion of stealing drugs and improperly administering medication. During the investigation, he was suspended from the hospital.
