My Favorites
As an action/wildlife photography instructor, I take my clients and students to areas that I know are not only target rich to get practice shooting, but also afford them a place to get beautifully composed photographs. With Florida’s autumn steadily approaching and eventually bringing some cooler weather, I wanted to share three of my favorite “secret” spots to get shots. Each are free and each offer plenty of photo opportunities.
1 – Overlook Park, Lk. Jessup

This relatively unknown quiet little gem is nestled on the banks of Lk. Jessup down Spring Avenue in Winter Springs. And by “little gem,” I mean it is small. Don’t let its size fool you though, this park has a lot to offer! You can walk down the boardwalk out to the pier and get awesome shots from Osprey diving into the water to Anhinga coming up from its depths with a fish. From beautiful sunrises to breath-taking sunsets, from alligators cruising for their next meal to birds of all kinds just living their lives!
