There’s a hurricane coming , and that undoubtedly means these questions come up: Where is it headed , and will the state’s theme parks close?

Helene was declared a hurricane on Wednesday morning, with the National Hurricane Center warning it will rapidly strengthen into a major hurricane over the eastern Gulf of Mexico. As of Wednesday, the highest landfall probability is somewhere along the eastern part of the Florida Panhandle, specifically the Big Bend area, on Thursday evening.

Forecasters have noted that Helene’s impact will be felt throughout the state. While currently the storm is not directly in the path of any of Florida’s theme parks, tourists or locals might be wondering if their theme park trip is on hold. As of Wednesday, Sept. 25, Disney World is still open to the public . On its website, it states officials are “closely monitoring the path of the storm as we continue to prioritize the safety of our guests and cast members.”
