Davenport 7-Eleven Employee Arrested for Illegal Alcohol Sale to Minor

As part of the ongoing “Operation Pop Top” campaign, Polk County Sheriff’s deputies visited ten convenience stores in Davenport on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, to ensure compliance with Florida’s alcohol sales laws. The operation aims to verify that clerks are checking IDs and refusing to sell alcohol to anyone under the age of 21.

Out of the ten stores visited, one failed: the 7-Eleven located at 6023 US 17/92 North. During the check, a 34-year-old sales clerk, Amber Jean Green of Kissimmee, sold alcohol to a 17-year-old PCSO Cadet who was assisting deputies in the operation.

Green was arrested and charged with Selling an Alcoholic Beverage to a Person Under 21, a misdemeanor.

“If you’re a sales clerk in Polk County, it is your duty to check identifications of customers purchasing alcoholic beverages,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. “If you sell to someone under 21, it’s our duty to charge you for that crime.”
