During the summer of 2024, Vanguard student Adrianne McAlister and her recently-graduated teammates were given the opportunity to compete at the National Technical Student Association convention in Orlando, Florida. After earning their bid in the state contest, they pre-submitted their portfolio to move onto the semi-final round that would then have their physical model judged. Finally, after making it through the first two rounds, McAlister and another team member were chosen to do a ten-minute interview. On award day, despite being nervous post interview, the team felt confident that they would place in the top ten. McAlister and her team were announced as the winners.
