Orlando TGI Fridays Faces Eviction Lawsuit Over Unpaid Rent, Allegedly Owes $65,761

If you’ve been in Florida long enough, you’ll remember the days when casual dining chains like Bennigan’s and Chi Chi’s were all the rage. Though many of those old favorites have faded, TGI Fridays has managed to stick around. However, the popular chain isn’t immune to challenges, and now an Orlando location is in hot water over unpaid rent.

What’s Going On with TGI Fridays in Florida?

TGI Fridays has been serving up casual, pub-style food since its first location opened in New York back in the 1960s. It’s known for being the creator of the loaded potato skin and has long been a spot where people gather to relax over burgers, wings, ribs, and wraps.

But times have changed, and even TGI Fridays has seen its share of struggles. In 2024, Florida lost a few of its locations, including stores in Ormond Beach, Royal Palm Beach, and Melbourne. These closures were attributed to the underperformance of those branches, leaving the state with just 19 remaining restaurants.

Now, the TGI Fridays located at 4151 Millenia Boulevard is facing even more serious trouble. This location has earned mixed reviews online, with an average rating of 3.4 stars on Google.
