Florida is the third-largest state in the US by population, behind California and Texas. With over 22 million residents, it’s a lot of mouths to feed. No wonder national and regional grocery chains flock to the state to capture a portion of that revenue.
Florida-based Publix has announced plans for another market. With nearly 900 locations in the state already, the company website has information on one more. On November 21st, Publix will have a grand opening in Palm Beach County. The 58,834-square-foot facility will be at 13880 Wellington Trace, Wellington.
Aldi, headquartered in Batavia, Illinois, is also continuing its expansion in Florida, adding to its over 220 stores in the state. They are in the process of setting up two new stores:
213 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa — Opening November 14
249 NW 6th Street, Unit Suite 601 Miami — Coming Soon (No opening date announced yet)
The New Jersey-based Korean grocer H-Mart has plans for its first location in Florida. They will be coming to Orlando. The company is offering few details on their plan beyond “Coming Soon.”
