Two Poinciana Teens Arrested in String of Vehicle Burglaries and Aggravated Assault Case

Poinciana, FL – According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), two teenage boys from Poinciana, FL, were arrested following a disturbing series of crimes in their community, including vehicle burglaries, theft of a handgun, and an aggravated assault involving a deadly weapon. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reports that the two teens, 17-year-old Christopher Thomas and 16-year-old Jeremius Butler, now face serious charges.

According to deputies, the investigation began on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, when they were called to the Gannet Court area of Poinciana after reports of an aggravated assault. Witnesses said that Thomas had pointed a loaded gun at another teen, threatening to shoot him. The frightened teen managed to flee, but deputies intensified efforts to locate the suspects. Thomas and Butler were later spotted on Audubon Road, where they admitted to the incident, revealing that Butler had discarded the firearm in a wooded area. With their guidance, deputies recovered the weapon, a loaded Glock 43, not far from the scene.
