Sanford police charge prowling suspect with additional crimes

SANFORD, Florida — Sanford Police have charged Angel Joseph Davis, a 22-year-old from Sanford, Florida, with additional crimes related to several cases. Davis was already in custody following his arrest for indecent exposure of sexual organs on December 18, 2024.The new charges against Davis include loitering or prowling, lewd lascivious behavior exhibition offender 18-year-old with a victim less than 16 years old, indecent exposure of sexual organs, and burglary of an unoccupied structure unarmed, according to the Sanford Police Department. The department has addressed all cases in which Davis was identified as a suspect.Davis was initially arrested after officers responded to reports of a prowler observed looking into a home and exposing himself in the area of 20th Street and Mellonville Avenue on December 17, 2024. The incident may be linked to prior reports of prowling, which did not involve the exposure of a sexual organ, stated the Sanford Police Department.Deputy Chief Trekelle Perkins expressed relief over the arrest, stating, “We are relieved to announce this arrest. We want our community to feel safe in their homes as we prepare for holiday celebrations.” Perkins also thanked citizens with surveillance cameras who helped identify and remove the suspect from the community.The investigation is ongoing as additional incidents and their possible connections are being examined.
