Orlando Braces for Cold Snap and Gale Conditions, NWS Melbourne Advises Caution

Brace yourselves, Orlando residents—it’s shaping to be a week when umbrellas and warm jackets are the leading fashion statements. The National Weather Service in Melbourne announced much below-normal temperatures and cold rain that will start tonight and extend into Wednesday.

The weather is also gearing up to make a solid wave at the coast. Becoming windy with a period of Gale conditions, possibly Tuesday night into Wednesday, with high, pounding surf along the coast, especially Cape Northward, as described in the official forecast. Moreover, there’s a strong chance to experience gusty north winds by Tuesday night that could rattle coastal areas with gusts around 40 mph. The sea is predicted to become equally unruly, with waves reaching as high as 13 feet in the Gulf Stream.

The chill isn’t letting up there. Later this week, we’re told to expect the coldest temperatures, while the weekend should bring some increased sunshine. We’re talking widespread 30s by Saturday morning, hinting at an atypically frosty scene for the Sunshine State’s standards. However, as the high pressure off the Carolina coast ushers in an easterly wind trend, temperatures next Sunday could climb back into the low to mid-70s, providing a slight respite from the bitter cold…
