As temperatures are set to plummet this week, local officials announced on Wednesday that two cold-weather shelters will open Thursday and Friday evenings to provide refuge for individuals experiencing homelessness.
Following established community protocols triggered when temperatures are forecasted to drop below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, First United Methodist Church St. Cloud (1000 Ohio Avenue, St. Cloud) and Iglesia Del Nazareno Casa De Vida (2367 Fortune Road, Kissimmee) will open their doors at 6 p.m. to offer overnight shelter Thursday and Friday.
