Florida AG Files Suit Agianst Pool Contractors For Defrauding Hundreds Of Floridians

A Brevard County couple is facing criminal charges for allegedly defrauding hundreds of Floridians through their pool contracting business. Charles and Kristin Black, owners of Legacy Pools, are accused of running a scheme that spanned nearly three years and resulted in over $2 million in losses for customers across multiple counties.

According to an investigation by the Florida Attorney General’s Office, the Blacks collected large sums of money from customers for pool construction projects but instead used the funds for personal expenses. Many customers were left with unfinished pools and unfulfilled contracts.

“The public needs to be careful when hiring a contractor for large projects like building a pool,” warned Acting Attorney General John Guard. “Do not rely on just what the salesman tells you. Verify that the contractor is legitimate and has the wherewithal to perform by checking with prior customers, the Better Business Bureau, and other similar resources.”…
