Speeding teen driver tries to lie about identity in traffic stop at Waffle House

A Windermere teen was arrested when officers noticed what looked like scattered narcotic powder during a traffic stop at Waffle House.

An officer observed a silver Cadillac speeding southbound on U.S. Highway 441 at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. Radar showed it to be going 65 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone. After seeing this, he conducted a traffic stop at Waffle House, located at 9520 U.S. Hwy. 441.

As the officer approached the vehicle, he explained the reason for the stop to the driver who then gave his name and date of birth. The front passenger, later identified as 19-year-old Damario Lee Ellison, was not wearing a seatbelt and gave the name “Willie Cutliff.” He also gave an incorrect birth date and stated he did not have a middle name, the report said.

The officer relayed this information to dispatch but was informed that they could not find anyone by that name and date of birth. He confirmed the information with Ellison who mentioned his middle name was Jaheem. Another officer on scene noticed he was reading the name and date of birth from his phone, the report said…
