ICE puts hold on unlicensed driver arrested on State Road 44

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has slapped a hold on the detention of an unlicensed driver arrested on State Road 44.

Mario Dominguez, 21, of Orlando, was driving a silver Chevrolet truck shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday at State Road 44 at Interstate 75 in Wildwood when a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy noticed the truck did not have an operable driver’s side taillight.

Dominguez did not speak English and a Spanish-speaking deputy was summoned to the scene to translate. Through the translator, Dominguez indicated he does not have a driver’s license issued in the United States. He also said he had been operating the truck “for employment.”

He was arrested on charge of driving without a license and issued a warning for faulty equipment for the inoperable taillight…
