PORT CHARLOTTE — A man in the Charlotte County Jail is accused of taking more than $300,000 from churches, businesses and others for construction work, and spending the money on cars, hotels, restaurants and shopping sprees, prosecutors say.
Tyler Mekel Anderson, 36, of Longwood, Florida, was arrested this week and remained in jail Friday facing three felony charges, reports show.
