NEWS: Over 400 Flight Delays Reported at Orlando Airport Due to Poor Weather Conditions

If you’re flying in or out of Orlando International Airport today, we’ve got some important news, and you might want to keep a close eye on your flight status.

Florida is no stranger to bad weather — especially nasty storms — but every once in a while, that weather is severe enough to impact airline operations in the area. In fact, a large wave of flight delays hit Orlando International Airport on May 4th, resulting in hundreds of impacted flights.

At 9 AM, flight tracking service FlightAware reported that Orlando International Airport was experiencing departure delays of one hour and 31 minutes to one hour and 45 minutes (and increasing) due to weather.

The Orlando Airport X (formerly Twitter) account also shared an announcement that stated, in part, “Due to weather conditions in the area, airline operations may be affected – flight/baggage delivery delays may occur.” The safest bet in these scenarios is to check directly with your airline for updates regarding flight operations.
