First responders from the Orlando Fire Department were actively engaged in a search and rescue operation in the Lake Nona area after reports of a possible water emergency flooding yesterday. Specifically, efforts were focused on Lake Whippoorwill, where a dive team and drone operators were on the scene behind the Cortland Nona Apartments, diligently working into the early hours today. The site, near Narcoossee Road and State Road 417, became the center of attention for more than 13 hours as teams scoured the area.
According to WFTV, the extensive search was underway beyond 6 a.m. earlier. The night had stretched on as crews searched to uncover any signs of the reported victim, presumed to have possibly drowned.
