Months-long probe leads to arrest of man linked to burglaries across six Florida counties

STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — A Florida man allegedly caught in the act of burglary earlier this year is now facing 43 counts after detectives linked him to a sweeping multi-county crime spree.

A months-long investigation into a string of burglaries across Florida has led to the arrest of 47-year-old Albert Christian Surens Velazquez, who was taken into custody on June 13 in Orlando.

Velazquez was first arrested in January 2025, when Stuart Police Detectives reported that they caught him in the act of committing a burglary. At the time, he was already the subject of an extensive investigation linking him to multiple burglaries across Manatee County, Palm Beach County, Delray Beach, Hillsborough County, Palm Beach Gardens, and Broward County…
