A Eustis man was arrested for driving with a suspended license less than two hours after being stopped and warned not to drive.
A deputy stopped 71-year-old Gerald Wayne Heitling in a blue Ford SUV on County Road 44 in Leesburg at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. A check of the license plate revealed his license was suspended.
Heitling was ultimately released with a criminal citation and a nonmoving citation. His tag was seized in accordance with a seize tag order attached to his driver’s license. He was also told that if he drove again, he would be taken to Lake County Jail for the violation rather than let off with a citation, the report said.
Heitling stated he understood. He was made aware that the vehicle could not be driven on the road due to being uninsured and having no tag attached. All units then cleared the stop, the report said…
