Suspect Shot, Arrested by Osceola Deputies After July 4th Home Invasion in St. Cloud

An attempted burglary in St. Cloud on Independence Day ended with a homeowner’s family member confronting and shooting a suspected intruder, who was later arrested by deputies.

The incident took place around 8:30 p.m. on July 4th at a home near Deer Run Road in St. Cloud. According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, a man arrived at his mother’s home and noticed the back door had been left open. Once inside, he heard noises coming from a bedroom and quickly armed himself with a gun.

After calling out to determine who was inside the house, the man reportedly charged down the hallway toward him. In response, the resident fired a single shot, striking the intruder in the leg. He then held the man at gunpoint until deputies arrived…
