ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A Florida man accused of raping multiple women more than 20 years ago has been arrested in Central Florida, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. JSO believes there could be additional victims in Jacksonville, Orlando, and “potentially beyond.”
Jason Blount, 52, was arrested in Orange County in February 2025 for alleged robbery, according to online court records. As he was being booked into jail, DNA was collected and run through a database that matched to some unsolved rape investigations out of Jacksonville, the sheriff’s office said, leading to his re-arrest on charges connected to those cases.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office posted about Jason Blount’s arrest on Monday afternoon on the agency’s Facebook page. JSO alleged that Blount’s DNA is connected to three rape investigations between 2000 and 2002 in Jacksonville.
- In March 2000, a woman said she was jogging in Duval County when she was approached by an unknown man, who yelled at her, and attacked her, according to JSO and the arrest affidavit.
- In April 2000, a woman said she was approached by a man and attacked at the tennis courts of an apartment complex, according to the arrest affidavit.

According to the arrest affidavit filed in the Orange County Clerk of Court, Blount was arrested in Feb. 2025 for allegedly pushing a woman to the ground and stealing her bike, which prompted the booking process and DNA collection, resulting in the arrests in Jacksonville’s cases.
