Orange County reverses course on withholding ICE detainees’ info from jail’s website

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — After receiving backlash from the community, Orange County is reversing course on an immigration policy to withhold detainee information from the Orange County jail’s website.

In two separate interviews, Central Florida immigration attorneys shared that there have been major wrinkles in the system, including locating their clients, keeping track of their whereabouts, and knowing when they are being transferred.

Attorneys Nayef Mubarak and Phillip Arroyo both said the Orange County jail was allegedly holding people for immigration-specific reasons, but the jail’s website did not have those individuals listed as in custody…
