Severe thunderstorm warning leaves Florida on high alert as home protection advice issued

‘Irregular’ storms are set to batter the central parts of Florida as the state transitions away from excessive heat.

This comes after the National Weather Service released an updated severe thunderstorm warning at 2:41 p.m. on Monday in effect until 3 p.m. for St. Johns County, which covers the areas around the Atlantic Coast city of St Augustine. Residents were warned to prepare for wind gusts of up to 60 mph.

Much of the state was in the grip of silly temperatures throughout Monday, as feel-like conditions soared as high as 110 degrees. It comes after a doomsday map revealed the US cities that may be destroyed in just 25 years…
