Dozens of dogs were rescued from a suspected dogfighting operation in Florida this week, and authorities are seeking information in the ongoing investigation.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said its S.W.A.T. team, along with Agricultural Marine investigators and Animal Enforcement, executed a search warrant at a residence at 31938 3rd Avenue in DeLand shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday. The search revealed a total of 29 dogs, ranging from puppies to elderly, chained in kennels.
