Fast‑food Chain Jack in the Box to Open First Orlando Restaurant: Start A Franchise Push Kicks Off

Jack in the Box’s long‑awaited Orlando debut is finally on the horizon, marking the first time the California‑based fast‑food chain will operate in Florida. The company is gearing up to start a franchise push in the Sunshine State, opening its inaugural Orlando location by the end of 2025, with more to follow.

Where and When: The First Orlando Location

The first Orlando restaurant is set to open Thursday, August 21, 2025, in the Lake Nona area near Disney, according to a report from the Orlando Business Journal. The site sits at 10105 William Carey Drive, on the east side of Narcoossee Road, a location confirmed in several local sources as the first to be built in the Orlando market.

Why This Expansion Matters

This marks Jack in the Box’s first venture into Florida, a market it exited more than three decades ago. In early 2024, the chain announced plans to bring 10 locations to Orlando, followed by an additional 10-store agreement, bringing the total planned units in the area to at least 20. Franchisee Ed Zausch is spearheading the development of those first ten units and was later joined by Dan Soma for the second wave.

The Lake Nona location is expected to follow Jack in the Box’s modern CRAVED design, with approximately 2,000 square feet of space, indoor seating for about 22 guests, drive‑thru service, mobile ordering, and 24‑hour operation—catering to the metro area’s growing appetite for late‑night eats.

Start a Franchise in Orlando: The Bigger Picture

This Orlando launch is part of a broader statewide push. As of mid‑2025, Jack in the Box is still recruiting franchise partners and planning up to ten locations in Orlando, with broader ambitions across Florida—including markets like Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville, and others.
