The Florida Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has launched an audit into Orange County’s finances, citing allegations of excessive government spending that has increased the financial burden on local taxpayers. In a letter sent to Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings, DOGE claims the county has raised property-related costs by $330 million annually over the past five years.
“Over the past five years, Orange County taxpayers have seen your government raise property-related costs by $330 million annually,” the letter states.
