Man jailed after alleged attack on ‘disrespectful’ juveniles at Waffle House

A man from New York was arrested for child abuse after allegedly attacking two juveniles who ate with him at Waffle House.

A deputy responded to Waffle House, located at 720 U.S. Hwy. 27, Clermont, regarding a battery in progress at 12:40 a.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Upon arrival, he met with two juveniles and 22-year-old Lorenzo Anthony Washington.

The juvenile victims explained that they had gotten into an argument with Washington while inside the restaurant, and it continued into the parking lot. They were reluctant to give any more details, only saying the altercation turned physical outside. One of the victims was shirtless and had a bleeding lip while the other did not seem to have any visible injuries, the report said.

Washington stated the juvenile victims had been acting disrespectfully while inside the Waffle House. When he told them to calm down, they refused. They then went outside where one of the juveniles shoved him, and a physical fight followed. He sustained a small nick on his right wrist, the report said…
