A woman was arrested after a one-week-old baby was found in an Orlando residential driveway.
The Orlando Police Department is investigating the discovery of a one-week-old baby boy found in the 5500 block of Lido Street. OPD said the infant was found in a car seat in the driveway of a residence. Police said he is in good health and was being treated at a local hospital.
Through investigative efforts, OPD detectives were able to identify the child’s parents. Angelica Sanchez Bautista was apprehended by the Fugitive Investigative Unit and charged with Neglect of a Child. OPD said that at the time, there is no evidence indicating that the child’s father was aware of the mother’s actions.
The Orlando Police Department reminds all parents and caregivers that the Safe Haven Law exists to provide a safe, legal, and anonymous option for surrendering newborns.
