Orange Avenue Crosswalks Painted Over Weeks After Project Completion — and the Original FDOT Post is Gone

Well, that didn’t last long.

Less than two months after celebrating the completion of a major road improvement project on South Orange Avenue (which we covered back in July), FDOT crews have painted over some of the decorative crosswalks that were just installed. The move has prompted a few double-takes from locals and small business owners who remember the fanfare that came with their debut.

The project, which spanned from Grant Street to Gore Street near the Pulse Interim Memorial, was intended to enhance pedestrian safety and traffic flow while incorporating “decorative elements,” according to FDOT’s original announcement.
