Second Harvest Is Cooking Up Careers with Free Culinary Training Program

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is now accepting applications for its free 16-week Culinary Training Program, which kicks off September 15.

The workforce development course, launched in 2013, has already helped more than 500 graduates land entry-level jobs in Central Florida’s hospitality industry. Students get hands-on kitchen training, life coaching, job-readiness skills, and leave with a culinary diploma, chef coat, professional knife set, and ongoing job placement support.

“This program is a steppingstone to a brighter future,” said Derrick Chubbs, President and CEO of Second Harvest. “By offering continuing education and job readiness support, we’re helping students develop the confidence and skills needed to succeed in the food service industry.”
