Take Action Against Hunger as Need for Assistance Rises

As the region’s largest emergency food provider, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida knows that every action makes a difference – and this September, the food bank is calling on members of the community to take at least one action to help feed hope.

Hunger Action Month, observed every September, is a time to amplify the work that Second Harvest does year-round. With federal funding cuts threatening local hunger relief efforts, Second Harvest needs as much support as possible and there are many ways to get involved throughout September:

  • Register for the inaugural “Hunger Never Sleeps” 24-hour volunteer marathon
  • Wear orange on Sept. 9 for Hunger Action Day
  • Attend a “Food for Thought” tour on Sept. 17
