UCFPD fielded 12 reports of stalking on main campus in 1 month, crime log states

The UCF Police Department responded to 12 initial reports of stalking on UCF’s main campus and its residential facilities in one month, nearly a third of the campus’s average number of reports in a year, according to its daily crime log.

UCFPD Detective Bianca Becker confirmed the upward trend and said that many reports associated with stalking come from students living in campus housing or spending significant time on campus.

“Basically, stalking is any unwanted contact which serves no legitimate purpose for no necessary purpose, over a period of time,” Becker said. “A lot of calls related to stalking are coming from students living in housing or who are currently on campus.”…
