Stolen Kia Chase Ends with PIT Maneuver on Polk Parkway

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle on Thursday night ended with a successful police maneuver and the arrest of an Orlando man on multiple felony charges, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).

The incident began around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 25th, when a deputy spotted a stolen 2021 Kia Forte traveling west on I-4 near Champions Gate. The vehicle had been reported stolen the previous day, September 24th, out of Orlando.

Additional law enforcement units, including the PCSO Aviation unit in a helicopter, were notified and joined the pursuit. Deputies attempted a traffic stop on the stolen Kia once it reached the Polk Parkway, but the driver allegedly accelerated drastically, reaching speeds of approximately 120 mph in an attempt to flee…
