Injured Bear Recovering After Being Struck By Vehicle, Hiding In Tree In Florida

A Florida black bear is expected to make a full recovery after it found injured in a tree this week.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Sector 4 deputies responded to a report that a black bear had been struck by a vehicle and was injured. They arrived to find the bear had escaped into a nearby tree. The sheriff’s office did not provide an exact location, but Sector 4 stretches from Orlando city limits south to Kissimmee.

Deputies remained at the scene to watch over the injured bear until Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) personnel arrived to “provide expert care,” the sheriff’s office said…
