Suspect runs to Orlando high school after shooting, killing minor in park, deputies say

ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) — A minor was shot and killed by another minor at an Orlando park Thursday, prompting a lockdown and large law enforcement presence at a nearby high school.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office told NBC affiliate WESH the shooting happened at Vogt-Meloon Park, which is near Oak Ridge High School and the South Orlando YMCA.

The suspect ran to the high school after the shooting, and was detained by a school resource deputy, according to authorities.
