Some parents call for Seminole County superintendent to be fired over communication lapse following threat

LONGWOOD, Fla. — Upset parents are calling for the Seminole County Superintendent of Schools to be removed from office over her actions last month involving a potentially dangerous employee at an elementary school.

They claim Superintendent Serita Beamon did not do enough to inform them about a school district paraprofessional worker who told a school resource officer that he thought about killing a 6-year-old child and carrying out a shooting at Sabal Point Elementary School.

Ashley Peterson says she is one of several Sabal Point Elementary School parents calling for Beamon’s immediate removal. Peterson sent an email to the Florida Department of Education this week calling for the big change…
