FBI Foils Terror Plot on South Orlando Chabad

Federal and local authorities in Florida arrested two Brazilian nationals on Shabbos in what officials describe as a “specific and imminent” plot to attack Chabad of South Orlando.

According to law enforcement sources, Janaina Toledo, 32, and Leonardo Corona Ramos, 42, were taken into custody after FBI agents and Florida police raided their hotel rooms in Orlando. The pair—who entered the United States illegally—are accused of operating under the direction of Tren de Aragua, a violent Venezuelan-based criminal organization known for extortion and contract killings across Latin America.

Investigators say the two had recently conducted surveillance of Chabad of South Orlando, a shul and school directed by Rabbi Yosef and Chani Konikov, and were in the advanced stages of planning an assault.
